Jaemellah Kemp, a Georgia native schooled in the greater Washington, DC area, is an advocate for youth, education, and entrepreneurship. And, she is all things nonprofit management.

Ms. Kemp holds an associate’s degree in Business Administration and a bachelors in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. She obtained her masters in Nonprofit & Association Management from University of Maryland University College (UMUC) in May 2014.

Since graduating Ms. Kemp has joined the UMUC alumni association as a member of the programming committee, recorded a UMUC My Moments YouTube video and commercial that aired regionally, and received the 2015 Achiever’s Award at UMUC’s 25th Annual Alumni Awards in June 2015. In June 2015, she was appointed to UMUC’s Board of Directors as the new Programming Committee, VP. She was also recognized as a University System of Maryland entrepreneur in 2018 at the Chancellor's home.

Ms. Kemp possesses over 15 years of customer service experience and has worked in the telecommunications, publishing, and nonprofit industries to perfect her craft. She is the Director, Member Services Operations at the U.S. Naval Institute, an Annapolis based nonprofit association that focuses on preserving the history of the nation’s sea services.

Ms. Kemp’s tenacity, drive, determination, and willingness to help others culminated into the birth of IT TAKES TWO, INC, a 501 c(3) nonprofit organization that awards scholarships to students living in single parent homes. As a single mother she understands the financial and emotional strains associated with one parent and one income households. IT TAKES TWO, INC is her ministry to pay it forward by relieving the financial burden associated with back to school costs. Her commitment to our youths’ education is expertly displayed through various workshops that address topics such as bullying, financial literacy, how to find and apply for scholarships, and effective resume writing and interview etiquette skills.

Ms. Kemp has extended her philanthropic efforts by casting a wide net to impact change in local communities through Jaemellah Kemp Consulting (JKC). To date, she has launched 30 nonprofit organizations with 100% 501c3 approval rate.

JKC is an educationally based nonprofit start up consulting firm that assists aspiring entrepreneurs in successfully building a nonprofit founded on sound principles, actionable strategies, and relevant information. Future nonprofit executives receive training based on lessons learned in the classroom as well as Ms. Kemp’s own experiences as both a nonprofit executive and CEO. “I don’t want to just deliver documents that are needed to start your business. Anyone can do that. I want to ensure that you are educated so that you become a subject matter expert in your own right.”
